     This cemetery is located directly behind the present New Bethel Baptist Church which took over responsibility for it around 1880. The earliest burial appears to be around 1847. The cemetery is still in use though burials there are rare.

     In the 1990's, cemetery board members made a burial list, reading the stones and recording the information from the approximately 280 stones.

    In 2004, the Franklin Township Historical Society received permission from the Cemetery Board to publish these records. Included is a plan of the area, showing numbered gravesites.  See "Called Home" - Franklin township Historical Society - 1999.
