Also known as Bethel United Methodist Cemetery.

GENERAL CONDITION:  This is a rather large cemetery with probably close to 1000 stones.  It is very well maintained and still an active cemetery as there are signs of recent burials.  Since it is still active, there have probably been lots of burials since the 1957 (1997?) reading.  The cemetery was established in 1832.  Most of the older stones are in the eastern part of the cemetery.  Some broken and/or illegible stones exist, but most of the stones are marble and in excellent condition.

DIRECTIONS FROM DOWNTOWN:  Take I-65 north from the downtown area.  Get off at the Lafayette Rd. exit.  At the bottom of the exit ramp turn right (north).  Go north on Lafayette Rd. about 1/4 of a mile to 52nd St.  Turn right (east) on 52nd St.  Go about 1/4 of a mile and you will run right into the cemetery.
